The Knights of Vartan have appropriated $100,000 from their national treasury for financial assistance to the people of Artsakh and has challenged the various Tahlijs to match (or even exceed that amount). To date, KoV has contributed $250,000. Ardashad Tahlij of Philadelphia has every intention of rising to that challenge. In fact, we have appropriated $1,000 from our own treasury and are seeking to raise that number to $10,000 (or even more) to support our fellows in the Homeland. OUR PROJECT CURRENTLY UNDERWAY
MEHER RESTORATION PROJECT
We know how important the Meher statue is to our beloved community members here in Philadelphia. Due to exposure to the elements for the past several decades, the statue is in need of approximately $150,000 in vital repairs, including the need to remove the crumbling foundation and replacing the granite base.
We have a wonderful planning committee assembled, including leaders throughout all five area churches and organizations in the Philadelphia community. We are in constant discussions with the City and Art Museum officials on tackling this project. In addition, we are also working alongside contractors, landscape designers, and architects, within our own community, to help us restore this majestic and sacred monument.
Help us fulfill our obligation to maintain this sacred monument and keep it in one of the most prime locations of the city!
